Broomfield Colorado City Info
Broomfield received its name from its “Broomcorn” agricultural corn crops grown in the area.
The population is around 53,000 but projects its build out to be around 83,000. Broomfield is about 17miles from Denver and 13 miles from Boulder.
Broomfield is home of three large Technology companies (Sun Microsystems, Level 3 Communications and Corporate Express) and the Flat Iron Crossing Mall (Shopping) as well as the Broomfield Event Center. Here’s what the Event Center says about it’s Marqee Teams: “The Broomfield Event Center is home to two professional minor league sports teams: the Rocky Mountain Rage from the Central Hockey League and the Colorado 14ers from the National Basketball Association Development League (Affiliate team of the Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors and N.J. Nets).”
Outdoor Recreation wise, you get some spectacular trails leading to Stearns Lake and Josh’s pond. “If you pass by the open space at the intersection of Miramonte Blvd. and Kohl St., you will surly notice the Discovery Trail created by Dan Probert. Dan has created an outstanding Eagle Scout project that has enhanced and transformed this open space area into an interpretive nature exhibit.” (city of broomfield).
