Here’s what www.Wikipedia.org says about the town:
“Peyton is an unincorporated town and a U.S. Post Office in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The population was 71 at the 2000 census. Peyton has the ZIP Code of 80831. The nearby, unincorporated area of Falcon also uses zip code 80831. [2]. Peyton and towns such as Falcon, Calhan, Ramah, Simla, and Matheson straddle Highway US 24 between Colorado Springs and Limon, Colorado where US 24 intersects with Interstate 70.
Students are served by Peyton School District 23JT in the Peyton area and by Falcon School District 49 in the Falcon area and nearby areas of Colorado Springs.”
During World War II, German prisoners of war allowed to do construction, farm and logging work in the area were ‘housed’ in the “Black Squirrel Creek Bridge’s” foundation.
You might be able to see some wild Pronghorns at the ‘Homestead Ranch Regional Park’ located near the town. There are some trails and a playground as well as a historical homestead site that was built in 1874.
